Her Highness’s High Heels.

There’s a lot of conversation around karma. A friend asked me to write about it, and I agreed to; and in that was born karma. A promise, a commitment, a desire.

I could have well told my friend that knowledge about karma would find its way to her becase her desire would be answered by nature. And that would’ve been the truth.

For every request is answered, and every desire, fulfilled.

But “i” didn’t. “i” said “i” would do it. The small “i” speaks over and over and over again. Gets in the way of nature’s flawless mechanism. While the big “I”, the real “I”, watches silently. The “i” assumes it knows more about karma than life itself does. Get the drift?

One superior kick-ass factory.

The small “i” is itself the eternal manufacturing unit producing the high heels that come to kick us in our butts. And the same “i” continues to complain. See?

There’s so much to say on this subject. My “i” figured it needed to structure this right; and realised that this could well make for an unending book. Where to start? But the friend who made this request is nothing if not gracious; she said I could take all the time I need. And we’ll talk about this more.

This piece will not read like advice or anything, heavens no! i’ve got to learn to heed my own advice and get it to work with me first! But having made this commitment, i must fulfil my karmic story and debt, as it were. The account needs settling; the debt, payment; the promise, honouring.

Here are some thoughts as they flow. And perhaps one piece of advice. Take your heels off and relax. Then read. Safer that way methinks.

A few words about the word itself, and its meaning.

The word itself is pronounced kar(a)m. The a at the end of karma is silent. I’d have to speak it aloud to ‘show’ you’. It is not pronounced “cār-mā” as most do.

The word kar(a)m or karma is exceedingly important in life’s play, and has more than one meaning. It means action, as in every action we make is a kar(a)m we perform. It also means our accumulated (past) to-do list (karmic), or debt (or commitment ‘portfolio’). And it also can mean an action done in the present moment under the influence of ego (and a few other things; more later, important as well) where such action creates bondage, ergo an action that will create a transactional debt. Remember that every action begets an equal and opposite reaction. (Sir Issac Newton’s third law. Those of you who are engineers may remark that this law is not always applicable to the electromagnetic theory, but hey, work with me here for a moment.)

Unpacking this some.

First; nature works on its own. It is self-sufficient and self-regulating. All nature is One and it works as one. It thereby does not discriminate between one physical (manifested) form or another. Each form, while posessing different functional attributes is the very same at its core.

What’s in a seed?

A seed that falls from a tree does so without intent or effort. That’s the nature of the tree. It produces seeds, many of which are potent (important), and many not; and many fall to the earth.

Soil conditions might be conducive to make the seed(s) germinate. The seed breaks its shell, grows roots into the earth, and sprouts a stem and leaves above the earth. The seed is surrounded by nature in the form of nurturance; soil, moisture in the earth, the Sun above earth to induce photosynthesis, a phenomenon natural to the plant species, and so forth. You could write a few volumes on just that.

An ego-less seed?

The essential point is that the seed has no sense of ego. There’s no phenomenon of identity. It does not identify itself as a Grade 1 or 2 seed. There’s no thought; its entire journey from seed to a mighty oak that will stand for three hundred years is automatic and fuelled by nature.

The power of the nurturing Sun, which includes fire, was responsible for making the tree that made the seed that becomes the tree, and there you have an eternal story. It’s fair (and true) to say that the Sun permeates every bit of the seed, and surrounds it too.

If you were the Sun, you would see yourself everywhere, and would likely not differentiate between the forms you nurture.

The human body.

Our bodies are the same. They grow because they are fed, the quality of that feed determines how that body shapes up. Hunger, or fire, is automatic too. It’s in the nature of a living body to want nurturance. But humans have a consciousness, an ego, and preferences such as likes, dislikes, amongst a host of other phenomenon that make up the world.

Every living form is made of five elements: earth, wind, water, fire, and ether (or space). Infuse life-force into this mix and you have a living body. We do not have “living” bodies without energy, or the movement of breath.

If we were able to feed the body what it needed rather than what we had a taste for, our bodies would be better than alright. They’d be perfect for what they were born to do. Not every seed must make an unmoving Oak; the flexible Willow has her own specific work in life. By nature’s design.

Greed; big human phenomenon.

Taste and greed makes us unhealthy. Our choices reflect upon our bodies. This is the working of consciousness and the mind. That super-powerful mind that contains the potential for excuses and excesses too.

Somewhere in the whirlwind of daily activity we’ve put to sleep our ability to listen. We don’t listen to people because we don’t listen to ourselves. Or our bodies. We cannot fill our car’s tank with more gas than it can hold, but we will force that extra helping into our mouths because we have a taste for that dish. That abuse gets a reaction. Do “this”, and “that” happens. We all know this yet we lose balance.

Nature stays in supreme balance.

That does not happen to nature. It’s always perfect. It’s automatic, sans ego or a sense of a smaller self. Nature intrinsically knows and own its largesse. Most humans don’t. Nature has trillions of things being born, being nurtured, and dying within it, simultaneously too. It does not grieve anything because it knows that everything is nature. Everything is it.

But but but…

The human does not feel that way. The human isolates itself from the largesse of nature by carving out an identity different from others. The human ego needs that to feel special. Think about that; we think we make ourselves special by making ourselves small! It’s actually nature that is special because She is large and all encompassing. Her dance is complete in every moment.

Ego and Identity.

All desire is made by an identity, or ego. One proof of ego is memory. “i” was a doctor, now “i” am a pilot. By day “i’m” a writer, by night, “i’m” the security head for the neighbourhood. Identities.

The tree didn’t quite say it was a designated “shade-and oxygen-provider” by day, and an “oxygen consumer” by night. No ego. It just is, living in the unspoken acknowledgement that nature does for it as it deems fit and per her nature.

It doesn’t effing wail like we do. Nor say “i have surrendered to nature”. You’ve surrendered to nature? Seriously? Who do we think runs the universe? Jeez!

Straight up.

When our limited consciousness, aka ego, makes a desire, nature presents itself to honour it, to fulfil it. But our consciousness has to be around for that. A human (or manifested consciousness) aged say eighty-five that made a deep desire to be a star-ship commander watching the early days of Star Trek sometime in the 1970s, will, upon cessation of the body, manifest again in the era where that desire becomes possible. (Which may be now as we’re talking about colonising Mars.) Or in another fifteen, twenty, or whatever years from now.

Our desires will be fulfilled by nature. Nature in its perfect and automatic manner of working will bring that into play at the right time. For nature, it’s all One. For us, it spans lifetimes and more.

You and I? Ah well, we will not remember our own desires, trillion of them that we make over time. We end up taking bodies to experience and live through those desires and commitments. Nature has all the time in the universe. We humans tend to forget as our consciousness transmigrate to another body.

Get the drift some?

Carrying forward from the last write of 2021.

Here:

To all those that responded; what left-overs have you brought into your life of 2022 from 2021? Imagine that the last day of last year was the end of your life, do you see that you would’ve left carrying a to-do list in your consciousness? Do you get you will appear on earth as a babe in the woods with one helluva script, still working on past briefs? You’ll be naturally attracted to some things and seriously repulsed by others. Human included. There’s loads in our to-do lists that we’ve forgotten over the eons. Or have we? Isn’t it deeply encoded in our DNA? You savvy? Ha ha.

Desire.

Every desire we make adds to our “kar(a)m”, or karmic bundle. It ensures that we work on it too, as in perform a kar(a)m (action) to complete our desire. And one last example; say you tell me that you’ve gone out of your way for me, that you, out of your generosity and “love” for me have done something special for me, that you’ve made great effort, and that no other person would likely have done this, and that you’re very happy for having done that and so forth.. the accent is on you “doing” something. Very unlike the three-hundred year-old Oak that makes no grand claims about providing you with shade. And so when your ego plays up, my ego will want to reciprocate in some manner, and I might well even say so. And there’s your example of an ego-owned non-automatic action that will beget an opposite reaction. And if my body should decease after making that vow or desire, my consciousness shall have to return and find your consciousness in whatever types of bodies they assume to even out the account. Be indebted to someone for your life and you’ll be back as their slave paying off that debt. Or some deeper skit.

Enterprise.

Seen our StarShip commander anywhere? Likely born with a deep desire to do that work? A lifetime dream? A child born into circumstances that make the fulfilment of that dream possible, whether through hardship or grant. Nature will not see those as any different.

To the dancing queen.

Dance on, dancing queen. You are all-pervading all-powerful Shakti. You are light, you are breath, you sutain all. It’s only when “i” stop that you will find rest. Only then will you be still.

But then again, you and I are not two. Tell me more about yourself that i may know I.

“You will return, when all, through time and space, is done. And then of the twins you will no more have need; you, my love, will have your last swing in that celestial carousel indeed.” ***

Love and respect.
